In the beginning of this year we started our Internship Program with three new design interns, David, Tom and Hahyun! We’ve asked Sara, Talent Manager at Screen Interaction, a few questions about the program.
Why has Screen Interaction started an internship program?
– I think this is one of the best ways to recruit and attract new talents! The purpose for the interns is to get knowledge and an understanding of what we do, our values and our ways of working. This is also an opportunity for the interns to try a potential future profession and reflect on is this something I want to work with? For us as a company it is also a great opportunity, as in all recruitment, to get influenced and learn from new perspectives!
Could you describe the internship program at Screen Interaction a bit further?
– The interns work full time at our office in Stockholm for a period of six months. The program starts with an onboarding day and a team activity in order to get to know each other better and “kick-off” the program. A key part of the program is that the interns have their own mentor - they have a weekly follow-up together, feedback sessions and the mentor sets the road ahead and goals for the intern during the program. Once a month the interns have their own “get together” where they have workshops with different themes. And of course—maybe most importantly— participating in the daily life and culture of the Screen family.
What are your expectations for the spring?
– If we ask the interns in four months I hope that they will feel that “something happened” in life during their time at Screen Interaction. That they’ve got new learnings and experiences, improved their design skills and hopefully that they have grown as individuals. Maybe some of them are new employees after the program and we already have 2-4 new design/tech interns that are joining after the summer!
