We are delighted to announce that we’re beginning our international expansion by opening an office in in Dubai. Reza Assareh, one of the four founders, has since last fall been working to establish our new branch in the emirate’s capital.
‒ We have chosen to establish ourselves in Dubai for several reasons. It’s a dynamic market where large investments are made in the IT infrastructure and digitization. We made the decision primarily based on requests from our customers operating in the region, but also because we see ourselves creating great customer value with an offer that links strategy and software in one package. By being on location in Dubai, we’ll be able to support both existing and new customers with innovation, strategy and in developing their digital businesses, says Reza Assareh.
In recent years, we’ve worked with a number of large, global corporations such as Ericsson, Assa Abloy and ABB, which has resulted in numerous international industry awards and attention in the world press. We’ve also recruited employees from some twenty countries to expand our cultural and linguistic skills, thus strengthening our position in the global market.
‒ Our employees are passionate in their efforts to help our customers in their digital transformation. This expansion means new opportunities for all of our talented employees to get more out of their talent in an international environment. Dubai is a tough market, but it’s also ripe to appreciate the value of our design approach and high level of ambition in terms of strategy, user experience and software development, comments Reza Assareh.
The Dubai office already has fourteen employees, most of whom were recruited locally. We’ve also managed to recruit Wisam Hassoun, who previously worked for the Screen Interaction branch in Kista, for the role of Operations Manager in the new office. Reza Assareh believes that the cultural differences have been the biggest challenge in the months required to establish Screen Interaction in Dubai, but we already have several assignments for customers in the lucrative Arabian Peninsula, which would not have been possible without a physical presence in Dubai.
‒ Dubai is different in many ways, we don’t follow Western practices when doing business. Finding the right place to market and adapt as a Scandinavian design company might take time, but I think the chances of succeeding in this market are very high, says Reza Assareh.
